Unique campus location
The site of The Green Bay data center is near Vlissingen in Zeeland, The Netherlands.
We have chosen this location for a number of reasons:
· The supply of reliable green energy from Dutch wind farms,
· The availability of industrial water for cooling,
· Enough land available for current and future requirements, at a remarkably low cost,
· The area of our site is about 40.000 m2,
· The whole available plot for sale is around 280.000m2
· Possibility to re-use the residual heat (greenhouse facility and/or chocolate factory)
The permit for the construction of the first 33MW datacenter has been granted and is irrevocable. Meaning that the project will NOT be affected by the current nitrogen discussion.
The plot is only 1.800m from a 150/380kV power station. This power station provides one of the most reliable energy feeds in the Netherlands and Europe and provides almost unlimited sources of renewable power. It actually consists of four independent 380kV networks, connected to various sustainable energy sources. These include a 40MW windfarm and a 20MW solar farm in the Sloe Area, plus eight huge windfarms on the North Sea generating more than 350MW each.
The Green Bay will use industrial water for cooling, which will enable us to achieve a PUE of <1.1.
We will achieve excellent connectivity via a high-speed Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) network. This network will connect the Green Bay data center to the Amsterdam Internet Exchange, with access to more than 200 carriers. Roundtrip latency is < 2.5ms
